Framing FAQ

How are your frames made?

First, we start with wood moulding, which we hand cut to fit your new print. The wooden pieces are joined together, UV resistant acrylic is cut to size, your print is archivally mounted and then we put all the necessary hanging hardware on it for you.

What's "UV resistant acrylic", and why should I care?

UV resistant acrylic is a type of plexiglass that filters out harmful UV (ultraviolet) rays. These rays are shown fade colors over time, so we think it's important to use and we make sure it's included in every order we frame.

How can a frame be "acid-free"?

We use only acid-free materials for our custom framed prints, this includes reversible hinging tape, acid-free mat, and spacers. Doing so ensures the paper won't discolor over time - remaining vibrant in your collection for years and generations to come.

What do I need to hang my new framed print?

All our frames come with all necessary hardware and wire already installed, so all you need is to do is simply drill a screw into your wall (drilling into the stud is recommended for heavier pieces). If you don't have a drill, a hammer and nail should suffice - we also think framed prints look great propped up on a bookshelf!

How long does it take for a framed print to ship?

Since all our frames are made by hand, please expect a two to three week window before your custom framed print is ready to ship!
